In the month of April, I learned a lot about myself
I won some and lost some, Felt things I’d never felt
Lost a loved one, heard confessions of feelings
Pushed through some fears, sent my stomach reeling

Threw my plans to the wind, said yes to so much
Open my mouth and I begin, to lose touch
Close my eyes, reach out my hand, find it again
A hidden guide, at my side, with my body I listen

I’m drowning in the moment
I’m burning in the moment
I’m pushing through the moment
Begin again this moment

Some minor setbacks, lessons to be learned
Perseverance, the only way to earn
Building bridges, where once they were burned
Will I make my way, back to her?

Or will we find, given time, the feelings will die?
A painful thought, I’ve not forgot, the joys of our time,
But I can’t see, a mystery, months and months ahead
I pick up piece, after piece, in case I need them
